It's a Lovely Day Today (points for naming the Irving Berlin musical)
All week I've been cleaning, chucking and packing during the day and dog-sitting at night(and working on sem paperwork).
It took a week, but I'm starting to acknowledge that a) it is summer and b) i'm not employed!
It's been mentally and spiritually cleansing to unburden myself of clutter and excess items. It's all like a physical manifestation of my life, as it's been the last couple years and as it is now.
Today I broke early from cleaning to go to the shore (the humidity broke and it was gorgeous!).....to a park I used to go to every year for my dad's work picnic. Those picnics were fond, fond memories of summers. It's a great park, a former estate. Beautiful gardens surround the mansion (they were kinda run down for years). There's nothing like a summer sea breeze. I brought a picnic dinner to enjoy. It was lovely. I did, however, have to relocate my meal at one point because of the advances of a skunk with a bad paw. Then I walked the perimeter down to the water, and then strolled through the gardens. I found a bench under a tree facing the water to sit and read some assigned reading as the sun set and ferries/boats went east or west.
Just lovely.
